Some of the country’s best home bakers welcome Gregor MacLeod into the kitchen to show him their favourite recipes. As a professional cook and baker he knows that you can’t put a price on a tried and tested recipe and also shares some of his own.

In the bays of Harris, Gregor tries a winning combination – fluffy cheese scones still warm from the oven and homemade cream of tomato soup. He also visits Beauly to see how to make a twist on the traditional tealoaf. By adding cocoa and a good glug of brandy the humble tealoaf is elevated to a rich and deliciously moist treat.

Back at home in his own kitchen in Callanish, Gregor makes his own version of the famous Scottish chocolate teacakes and shows us his recipe for quick and easy spring rolls that are the perfect way to use up spare veg or leftover meat.
