Pink blossom brightens up a dreich Scottish spring

Cherry and apple blossom have brought some much-needed cheer during what has been, at times, a cold and dreich start to spring in Scotland.
BBC Scotland News website readers and BBC Weather Watchers have been among those taking pictures of the bright pink blooms.

Margaret Douglas said the blossom at Riverside, Stirling, was "beautiful".
Frank Urban visited Dollar in the hope of finding its cherry blossom in full bloom. Frank said: "I wasn’t disappointed, and took this shot of Dollar Parish Church surrounded by the beautiful blossom."

Rachel O'Donnell perfectly timed her walk to Edinburgh's Meadows to see the blossom in all its glory. She said: "This beauty of nature stopped one local dog, and I, in our tracks."
Moira Logan's picture was taken in Victoria Park, Glasgow. Moira said: "Everything looked lovely in the beautiful evening light."
Ken Macdonald said: "The avenue of cherry blossom trees in the Rose Garden, Linlithgow, always come to bloom in the last couple of weeks of April. This year is no exception."
